Try changing the perspective
One of the unavoidable things in becoming and being a full-time househusband is “cooking”.
I was particularly bad at cooking among housework.
One of the reasons I was bad at cooking was that I couldn’t cut the ingredients well with a knife.
When I carefully cut the ingredients to avoid injuring my fingers, it took a lot of time.
The second reason I was bad at it was that using a knife increased the amount of washing up.
When washing the knife, I had to be careful not to get injured, wash it, wipe it… and I also had to wash and wipe the cutting board that I had to use with the knife…
In my case, cooking with a knife was one of the stresses.
I thought about what if I could cook without using a knife, and I tried to think in reverse.
I prepared tools to replace the knife and thought about a menu that I could make without using a knife.
The tools I prepared were “kitchen scissors” and “chopper (manual)”.
I decided to cut meat and vegetables with kitchen scissors and mince them with a chopper.
By changing the menu to simple dishes such as stir-frying and boiling meat and vegetables, I no longer had to use a knife or cutting board.
It may be a heretical way, but by not using a knife, the stress during cooking has been greatly reduced.
In addition, because I was able to shorten the time for cooking and washing up, it was good that I had more time to spend with my family.
My wife was very surprised at first to see my cooking method without using a knife, but now she seems to be completely used to it.
It may have been good that I didn’t have a strong preconception that “cooking uses a knife”.
Even now, I cook without using a knife and serve it to my family.
Change your life by changing your perspective.
